NYC’s Best Holiday Windows
NYC department stores are well known for going all out and often a bit over the top when it comes to their holiday window displays and the 2013 displays will be no different.
Bloomingdales: This years theme is “Celebrations Around The World”, including scenes from NYC, France & Italy.
Lord & Taylor: This year Lord & Taylor went for a vintage New York theme. Think a Manhattan skyline that transports you to days of yore.
Bergdorf Goodman: Bergdorf’s chose a “Holidays on Ice” theme filled with crystallized art. Each of the window’s features a different and beautifully “iced” holiday. Think Independence Day…in winter.
Barneys: Barneys went a bit futuristic this year with a moving pattern LED light display and Santa in a sleigh unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
Saks Fifth Avenue: With a theme entitled, “Snowflake Spectacular”, the Saks windows debuted with a 3D light show. The display also features a prominence of Yetis, in addition to the usual snowflakes, dancers and gifts. Personally this feels like the boldest and most bizarre winder choice. Also the most humorous.
