The Ramen Burger: NYC’s Next Food Craze

As a firm that specializes in restaurant pr, we’re always fascinated by the latest food fads and gastro-delights, and while the fandom surrounding the cronut at Dominique Ansel Bakery is still growing, in the know New Yorkers are already clamoring around the next big food craze, the RAMEN BURGER.  What is a Ramen Burger you ask?  It’s simply a delicious burger, cooked medium rare and garnished with a secret shoyu sauce, scallions and arugula, sandwiched between two fried ramen noodle “buns”.

The Ramen Burger debuted at last Saturday’s Smorgasburg on the Williamsburg waterfront, and huge lines had already formed for the burger before the famous food fair had even opened at 10am and the Sun Noodle booth opened at 11am.  Ramen Burger creator Keizo Shimamoto had let it be know that he would have only 150 burgers available and they easily sold out. With hundreds of people waiting in lines in the rain for up to two hours to get a taste, most were turned away empty handed.

The Ramen Burger will be back again at Smorgasburg tomorrow, and this time they’ll be coming with 300 burgers. It’s sure to sell out again, so if you want a taste of the next NYC food craze, best to arrive very, very early.

If you want to check out how long the line really was, take a look at this video:
